KCSE candidates from various secondary schools in Thika West Sub-County have expressed confidence that their results in the forthcoming National exams will not be affected by the just ended teachers strike.

Caroline Mwende from Kenyatta girls school in Thika revealed that they had already completed the laid down syllabus and that they were currently only revising in readiness for the final exam.

"There are no set backs that will arise from the concluded teachers strike because we have covered all the topics as stipulated in the syllabus. As for me, the only tasks ahead are revision and prayers in anticipation of the completion of our four year course," she said.

Patrick Muiruri who is the head of Kenyatta Girls' School noted that the remaining period before the exams start will be critical to candidates. He also added that assistance from their teachers who are now back in school would further improve their performance.

"Students need the support of their teachers who are now back in school. I think the teachers' duty to the candidates is to now polish up what they have imparted in them by helping them in revision and boosting the weak students," he said

The students and their head were speaking on Wednesday from the school compound in Thika-Makongeni estate.
