Police officers who work as drivers in the in Machakos County are currently undergoing a two-day training aimed at improving competencies in service delivery.
The training which has been sponsored by Toyota Kenya in collaboration with the National Treasury kicked off on Thursday morning in all the Sub-Counties with the aim of passing emphasis to police officers in regard of ensuring good usage of police vehicles.
Martin Mugue from Toyota Kenya speaking at the launch, said that as the suppliers of police vehicles, they would need to get the feedback from the drivers for them to improve and make a better supply in future.
“We have also introduced a scheme whereby the drivers who have taken good care of a vehicle get a reward which will be collated from the county level to the national level,” said Mugue.
He added that the company intended to help local schools which do not have electricity connection by providing them with generators and solar panels to make learning easier.
The training was organised by the County Police Commander, Gideon Amalla, who was present during the launch.
