Kisumu County Locals' Voice Spokesperson Audi Ogada has challenged the county government to demolish old and abandoned buildings in the county that could harbour criminals or become a human threat.

Speaking to this writer on Thursday, Ogada called on the county government to come up with a structural audit team to check old, weak and abandoned buildings that were of no use that might cause accidents to locals staying next to them as well as to harbour criminals and demolish them to be a safe environment to stay around.

“We call upon the county government to come up with a task force, to demolish abandoned houses that act as a harbour for criminals in the area who usually terrorise Kisumu residents and pose a threat of collapsing,” said Ogada.

His colleague, Beatrice Ogola also saw the need to have such buildings demolished to make the locals feel safer.
