Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Friday visited Larmudiac High School for a fundraiser for the Kihingo Ward Bursary Fund that was started last year.

The kitty sponsors secondary and college students from needy families in Kihingo ward, Njoro Sub-County, and has so far  benefited 50 students.

Mbugua said education is critical to the development of the nation and Nakuru County.

"No matter one's background, education is the equaliser," he said.

He added that each year Sh110 million is disbursed to all the 55 wards in support of school fees.

Governor Mbugua was accompanied by the area MCA SK Kiarie, Deputy County Secretary GM Kioko, CO Education Joseph Tonui among others county officials.
