A third year, Bachelor of Commerce student of Egerton town campus was yesterday morning found dead in his room.
Confirming the incident, Mr. Matata Mathura, the student counsel said that the deceased whose name we have concealed was found dangling on a rope probably during the night and he had left a note indicating his M-PESA pin and his phone screen unlocking pattern to his siblings.
Some of his close friends said that the deceased had hinted to them that he would commit suicide a matter which they never took serious since he said it jokingly. The cause of his death is however the cause of his action is yet to be known.
The matter was later reported to the Nakuru central police who came and took the body as fellow students stared helplessly. The body was taken to the Nakuru provincial general hospital mortuary where it is waiting awaiting a post mortem.
This among the increasing cases of university students committing suicide in unclear circumstances .Just a few weeks ago another student from the same school was found dead in friend’s room.
Mr. Muthoka has urged students to report any suspicious case to the administration.
