National Council of Elders has pledged to work with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in advocating for peace in the country.
This comes after the elders were assured that the commission which is lead by Francis ole Kaparo is ready to work with all 47 elders to preach peace in the counties.
Addressing the elders on Thursday at Kisii University during National Elders Conference, Commissioner Morris Dzoro who represented NCIC chairman Ole Kaparo said that it is important for them to partner with elders to maintain peace in the country.
“It is important for the commission to partner with you so that we can maintain peace and develop our county by bettering our economy, " said Commissioner Dzoro.
He told them to devise ways in which they can integrate the counties to solve problems at the grassroots.
“Let us make sure that we maintain peace in the grassroots level and try to warn and advise our people not to propagate hate speech that can divide us,” he added.
