Uasin Gishu County CeC in charge of Trade, Industry and Tourism Philip Melly has urged all Saccos in the county to embrace technology, which will enhance service delivery, accountability and transparency.

Speaking in his office on Monday, Melly said Saccos that have embraced Information Communication Technology have gone a notch higher in terms of service delivery, and it is in course with vision 2030

“The county government will assist Saccos in facilitating Sacco members’ education in the use of technology in order to reach high levels of development and also enhance digitalized service delivery where a member can access it from the comfort of their houses,” he said.

The most targeted groups are women and youths, which the county goverment has helped to form groups that will help them access loans from the county goverment to improve their businesses.

“Saccos are the best way to go since may people have managed to educate their children, improving their livelihoods only through taking loans from Saccos, and I urge those who have not joined to do so since being a member of a particular Sacco has more good than harm, and we will fully support all Saccos both financially and through education,” he said.
