The Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board has commenced its final phase of vetting the judiciary officers.
The Board is in Kisumu city for a period of two-week vetting session which commenced on Monday and will end on September 16.
According to Kennedy Owino, from the board’s corporate communication department, the board will on Tuesday deliver its findings/determinations on 36 magistrates who were vetted in the last session.
Owino said the board will give details on magistrates found unsuitable to continue serving in office and those found suitable continue holding office.
“The press briefing for the determination of the cases will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, 8th September, 2015 from 9.45 am at Imperial Hotel,” read the statement from Owino.
It further stated that journalists will get an opportunity to interview members or make any clarification on issues of Judges and Magistrates vetting process.
The Board was in Kisumu lastly in March 2015, where they vetted 51 magistrates from Western Kenya region.
The Board vice chairperson Roseline Odede had announced that the determinations are released to the magistrates individually before a public announcement.
