A public health officer from Marani, Kitutu Chache South constituency has challenged the Ministry of Health to allocate more funds that can be used to reach residents and sensitise them on how to fight diseases affecting them.
The officer vowed to continue serving residents by working with them in fighting disease affecting them to promote development.
Diseases are among the challenges that affect people and hider development when not addressed in early stages and should be addressed by organising meetings to sensitise people on how to protect themselves from such diseases.
According to Thomas Oirere, the sub county health officer, fighting diseases need efforts by reaching residents in their places to sensitise them by giving them necessary skills on how to protect themselves from such disease.
Oirere who was speaking on Monday at Marani during an on going campaign sensitising residents on the importance of using mosquito nets said that the health ministry through health officers should have measures in place of creating awareness on the importance of taking precautions of diseases affecting them.
“As a ministry we have a lot to do to sensitise residents on how to protect themselves from common diseases such as malaria and which precautions should follow to combat them,” said Oirere.
He also said that through the ministry will initiate campaigns against malaria and other diseases and making sure that there are zero cases of malaria.
