Services are now closer to the residents thanks to the Huduma Centre,Kibra that was officially launched this week at Langata sub-county headquarters. Residents have been anxiously waiting for the completion of the centre since its construction began in December last year. Local and national leaders have endorsed the project sighting its importance to the Kibra community.
Addressing the public during the International Youth day ceremony at AMREF grounds on Wednesday, John Elungata who is the Deputy County Commissioner, Langata sub-county urged the residents to take advantage of the centre which is aimed at bringing services closer to them.
“Now that Huduma Centre has been brought to us, there should be no excuse as to why our people can fail to get important documents like national identification cards, business licenses among other services. Our youths should use this opportunity to benefit from the government tenders as required by the law,” stated Elungata.
Speaking on the same, Kibra MP Ken Okoth has called upon the people of his constituency to come out and obtain the necessary documents such as birth certificates, duplicate national identity cards, EACC Clearance Certificate, Kenya Police Abstract, Nairobi City Single Business Permit, NHIF and NSSF Registrations, Reporting Corruption, among other services.
“We thank the Government for responding positively to our request to have Huduma Centre closer to us. It is a great privilege that we should all embrace to better our operations within and out of Kibra. It is the right place to report corruption and ultimately help in ending bias in service delivery,” said the MP.
Although the public has responded positively by visiting the center, proper service delivery is expected to begin next week when the President is expected to commission it.
