Bomochoge Chache MP Simon Ogari has been challenged to install lightning arrestors in all public schools in his constituency to avoid deaths caused by lightning strikes.

The plea has come out from the locals after the three people lost their lives on Monday at Kenyenya after they were struck by lightning.

Speaking to journalists on Monday evening at Kenyenya after the incident, Bomachoge Chache residents, led by Mochorwa clan elder Charles Onchoke challenged the area MP to ensure lightning arrestors are installed in all public schools in the constituency to avoid similar disasters from happening in future.

“We are requesting our MP to help save our lives because this is not the first time our people are being killed by lightning,” said the clan elder.

He narrated: “The three people who lost their lives today came to attend a funeral service of their colleague when it started raining, is lightning hit the house they were sheltering in and they all died on the spot. One was seriously injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment”.
