A businessman in Chulaimbo on Sunday suffered a loss of approximately Sh200,000 after suspected robbers broke into his hardware.

The act occurred between 2am and 5am that Sunday. Concern has been raised on how the plan was executed as there were no use of any of physical force. It appeared that the operation had well been organised and they had accessed the keys to open the doors.

The suspected robbers were able to get away with money worth over Sh150,000 and goods worth over 100,000 though the exact figures have not yet been confirmed by the owner.

Audit officials are working to ascertain the exact worth of goods stolen. The police confirmed the incident and are looking into the matter. Two suspects were arrested.

John Macharia told this writer that he was shocked when he got to his premise only to realise the locks were not locked and his goods plus the money he had left the evening before were missing.

“I call upon any person who may have any information which may lead to arrest of the suspects to come forward. I will reward him or her with Sh50,000,” promised Macharia.

The area OCS Erick Lang'at condemned the incident and urged residents to volunteer giving useful information to help with the investigations.

“You ought be vigilant and uphold the Nyumba Kumi Initiative, anyone who has any information that may help in the investigations please do come forward,” urged OCS Lang'at.
