Parents from Nyamira County are in a dilemma even as the teachers strike enters its fifth week.

They said their children are still at home despite borrowing money to pay their school fees.

Speaking on Monday in Gesima ward, a section of parents led by Salome Mokeira said they don’t know what to do next.

According to her, it is a big loss to parents more so those who borrowed money to pay school fees.

“Most of us borrow money from groups to pay school fees but when our children are still at home and we need to repay back what we borrowed, we wonder what to do,” Mokeira said.

Grace Osiemo said it will not be best for the children to stay at home for an entire term yet they are supposed to be graded to ascertain whether they will move to the next class.

“It is really worrying for our children to be at home for this long as parents who have students in from three, how can we know that our children are promoted without doing an exam?” posed Osiemo.

They have urged the government to solve the matter for the benefit of their children.
