The Kikuyu Member of County Assembly has asked Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to invite more investors in the county in a bid to curb unemployment among youth.

Speaking on Tuesday at a Youth Development Forum at Jamii hall in Kikuyu, MCA Binary Wainaina said inviting more investors into the county can help curb unemployment among the youth.

Wainaina said most youths in the area were hard working and just needed a boost from the county government to explore their potential and move the county forward.

Wainaina said idleness among youth was the same as killing the future leaders as the youth will be next to lead the nation to its next destination.

He said investors who would come in the county would create job opportunities for the youth hence giving them an opportunity to develop themselves.

The MCA said the county government led by Governor Kabogo should advertise more investment opportunities in the county so that job opportunities can be created for the youth in the county.

He vowed to table the issue in the county assembly so as to seek the way forward for the youth.

“I will table the matter to the county assembly as this will be a great step for our youths. We want more investors in Kiambu County to help curb unemployment among youth which will also fight criminal activities in most parts of the county," said Wainaina.

He vowed to also talk to the area member of parliament Kimani Ichung'wa concerning the same so that this can be passed to the governor for consideration.

Wainaina said investors will not only help in curbing unemployment but also develop Kiambu County and create business opportunities that will foster growth in the county.
