One man died and four others sustained injuries in an accident along Kangundo's Kitheka road in Machakos County.
Th early Wednesday morning accident near Kaumoni junction involved a motorcycle and a matatu van.
According to the area traffic police base commander Davies Okisai, the matatu van was heading to Nairobi from Kangundo while the motorcycle was heading to Tala when they were involved in a head-on collision.
Okisai said the bodaboda operator died on the spot while his passenger and some passengers in the matatu were injured.
“The bodaboda rider died on the spot. His passenger was injured seriously and the several others in the matatu were also injured but we arrived at the scene in time," he said.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kangundo level four hospital mortuary while the injured are receiving treatment in the same hospital.
