Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has cautioned youths in the constituency against alcohol and illicit brew consumption.
Speaking to youths at Kapseret shopping centre on Monday, Sudi advised youths to completely shun alcohol abuse.
The MP instead advised the youths to apply for Uwezo Fund and start business.
The lawmaker said that alcohol abuse was rampant in the constituency adding that many youths had been lost in brewing and selling of the illegal alcohol at the expense of participating in important activities.
“Youths should completely shun and forget about alcohol and illicit brews and instead work with us on development,” he said.
Sudi lauded the recent crackdown on illicit brews and second generation alcoholic drinks saying that it has bore fruits.
The lawmaker said that cases of brewing have gone down since President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a crackdown on the brews.
The Kapseret MP urged chiefs to make sure that their areas are free of alcohol and brews.
Sudi also urged chiefs to make sure that alcohol addicts in their respective localities are rehabilitated and counselled.
