Kiambu County Chief Officer of Public Administration Dominic Gicheru has said that the county will not spare anybody involved in grabbing public land.
Gicheru said that the county government will repossess grabbed public land and deal with land grabbers.
Addressing Kiang'ombe residents, in Thika Town after leading an operation to demolish a wall erected on public land by a private developer on Thursday, Gicheru sent a stern warning to private developers with the intention of grabbing public land, saying that their days are numbered.
“Let this be clear, anyone who knows that he or she has grabbed public land should surrender it immediately. We will repossess the land and the culprits will be prosecuted,” said Gicheru.
Gicheru reiterated that public property will remain in the hands of public.
“Residents of Kiambu have a say in public facility and developers should keep off public land,” said Gicheru.
A section of Kiang'ombe residents joined county government askaris in pulling down the wall saying it was erected on public land meant for Kiang'ombe Secondary school.
