Nyumba Kumi chairman in Kiandutu Samuel Chege has hailed Wednesday’s changes in the Interior ministry that saw several county commissioners and police commanders reshuffled.

Speaking to HiviSasa.com on phone on Thursday morning, Chege expressed optimism that the incoming county commissioner (Alex Nkoyo) will be able to bring sanity more in the area especially on security issues.

"I understand that the commissioner is coming from Mandera County where he had to deal with major insecurity issues such as terrorism. With that experience, we expect him to deliver well," said Chege.

He said that though insecurity has tremendously gone down in Kiandutu slums, other parts of Thika town still face challenges.

"Criminals are still roaming free in Thika town terrorising and killing residents. If the county commissioner can address that, it will be better," he said.

Chege who is also the Thika District Business Association secretary vowed to continue cooperating with the new county commissioner on all matters.
