The launch of a milk ATM shop in Kibera is a blessing to residents who said they had only seen it in supermarkets.
Congratulating the owner, the residents said the ATM shop is cheaper compared to the packaged milk they buy from shops or supermarkets.
According to Peter Manson, a dealer at the T-Bois milk ATM shop, there are new customers daily, hence more profit for him.
“We are happy since the turn out has gradually improved. I have many customers mostly in the mornings and evenings. I have to serve them well because I do not want to lose them,’’ said Manson on Wednesday.
“I open the shop at 5.30am and close the business at 11pm to ensure that I serve all my clients who arrive late from work due to traffic jam,” he added.
One customer, Nelly Neddy, said she prefers the ATM milk to other milk because it is cheaper and is of good quality.
“I buy a litre of milk at Sh70 and it can serve me the whole day. I use some of it to make tea and add some to my child’s porridge. This is better compared to the packaged milk which is less in quality and does not meet my requirements,’’ said a happy Neddy.
She appealed to the manager to open more milk machines in the area.
