If upgraded to a level 4 hospital, Kionyo Health Center will benefit more residents, this is according to Mr Denis Okemwa, the facility's clinical health officer.
Mr Okemwa said currently being a Level 3 facility, it has only 6 nurses, two of which are sponsored by Care Kenya, a Non Governmental Organisation facilitating HIV/AIDS health education in the county.
He assured the public that the facility has sufficient basic drugs, dismissing public hearsay that patients were being turned away for lack of drugs.
"The facility is in the process of being upgraded, the wards, laboratories and administration offices are under construction. Recently the government supplied enough drugs to curb the initial deficit," Mr Okemwa assured members of the public during the facility's monthly outreach service on Thursday.
He urged the public to utilise the operational maternity wing and asked them to shun quacks in the village.
The facility is set to provide free eye check up services on November 3 as from 10am to 3pm to fight avoidable physical impairment.
