Kisii County Government has been urged to relocate its dumping site which is located at Nyambera behind Kisii level five hospital.
According to the Kisii level five hospital environmental Officer, Jonson Mkokha the site is becoming unhealthy since it’s located few meters from the hospital making the hospital compound filthy and unhealthy for patients and hospital workers.
Johnson said that they have currently written a letter to the County environment offices for the same request and they are hoping they will receive a response in few days coming up and said if they don’t receive any response they will proceed to the NEMA offices to get a direction from there.
“This is hospital is a public facility and it’s the one that serves the largest population in the county and therefore its environs should me maintained clean as possible” said Johnson
He added that the dumpsite is now growing day by day and if that continues Kisii Level 5 hospital won’t be a one stop hospital in the county since it will be declared unsafe for patients.
