Bodaboda riders in Kisii Town are set to benefit from sheds at their passenger terminals after the county government directed its officers to initiate the project.
Speaking on Wednesday during the project's assessment in the town Governor Ongwae said that his government is going to build the structures to shield customers and operators from the rain and intense sunlight.
Ongwae said that the project will commence as soon as the county officers finish mapping the area and all the proposed places for erecting them are approved.
“I know that these sheds are going to help you and the customer especially during the rainy season," he said.
Bodaboda riders in Kisii have been asking the county government to construct the sheds saying they can help them boost their business.
Brandon Gichana a bodaboda rider who has been in the business for the last two years says that he has to go home before it rains during the rainy seasons due to the absence of these structures.
"Now we can wait for the rain to end and then continue with our business without closing up early," he said.
