A man accused of stealing goats was on Monday arraigned before a Mombasa Court to answer to theft charges.
Juma Mohammed was charged for stealing seven goats belonging to Mr Said Omar.
Mr Omar is said to have found out that his seven goats went missing from his homestead in Tononoka, and reported the matter to the police.
The court heard that the accused stole the seven goats worth Sh40,000 and was arrested after police investigations.
Prosecution said the accused committed the crime between September 25 and 26 in Tononoka, Mombasa County.
The accused however denied the charges before the court and filed an application to be released on bond pending the next case hearing which the prosecution did not oppose.
Mombasa Chief Magistrate David Karani in his ruling granted the application by the accused and ordered for him to be released on a Sh100,000 bond with surety of a similar amount.
Magistrate Karani ordered for the case to be heard on November 11.
