A man who killed a policewoman for turning down his marriage proposal was yesterday sentenced to death by the High Court in Mombasa.
Abduba Guyo appeared before Justice Martin Muya at the High Court in Mombasa.
Milga Abdullahi, 28, was a police constable based at the Makupa Police Station.
A government pathologist called as a prosecution witness said Abdullahi was strangled on January 9, 2013.
Her body had marks around the neck and was found by a colleague after she failed to turn up for duty at a bank in Makupa town.
Muya relied on the evidence of nine witnesses and that of Abdullahi’s mother, Muslima Kalicha.
During the murder trial, Kalicha said her daughter called her moments before Guya strangled her to death.
“Milga called me and said Guya was with him and wanted to kill her,” Kalicha said.
The judge said the decision by Guya to flee from Mombasa to Isiolo where he was arrested by CID detectives proved his guilt.
