A 45 year-old man was on Monday arrested by police officers in Nyamira for allegedly killing his wife and chopping her into piece in Charachani village in Nyamira District.

According to Nyamira police OCPD Riko Ngare, the suspect, identified as Samuel Otenyo Nyakwara, killed his wife, Beatrice Otenyo and cut her body into pieces and hid the body parts in different places.

He said that the police have up to now found few parts of the body as the search for other parts of the woman’s body continues.

The suspect was taken to the Nyamira police station and is expected to be arraigned in court after the police are done with their investigations.

The Nyamira OCPD said that they had found a leg and part of the ribs on October 10, and decided to investigate whose body parts they were.

“On October 10, we found body parts of a person and we started investigations, and today we were told that there were chaos in Miruka  and the suspect we arrested is said to be the husband of the victim," said Ngare.

"We have not recovered other body parts but we have the suspect with us and we shall continue to question him and see if he can direct us to where he hid the other body parts,” he added.
