Police in Lari town have launched investigations into the killing of a middle-aged man whose body was discovered in King’atua forest in Lari on Monday.
Kenya forest rangers discovered the body covered with a blanket on Monday morning 700 meters from the Nairobi-Naivasha highway.
Confirming the incident, Lari police boss Alfred Makoma said that investigations have been launched. He said that detectives have been deployed to gather evidence and leads that will see the killers arrested.
Mr Makoma said that the body had no visible injuries adding that the deceased could have been strangled to death.
“We are suspecting that the man could have been strangled to death and the body dumped in the forest,” he told reporters at his office on Monday.
The police boss noted that cases of people being killed elsewhere and bodies dumped in the area have been reported recently.
Makoma urged the public to provide information that will help in arrest of the killers. He assured locals of their safety saying that patrols will be intensified across the town.
