Several youths from Mavoko Sub County are 'wolves in sheep hides', says Maurice Mosachi.

Mr Mosachi who is the region's Sub County Youth Enterprise Development Fund officer accused the youth of being great liars and pretenders including in holy places of worship.

"We have youths from Mavoko who hide in churches, mosques among other areas of worship, this posses great challenges because it is not easy to trust any of them," said Mr Mosachi.

Mr Mosachi who addressed participants of Inter Faith Religious Forum on drug and substance abuse at St Jude's Catholic Church in Athi River town on Friday said such youths take advantage of night "keshas" among other events to engage in illicit activities.

"At day time during church services, the youth are very holy and active in various activities within the church including serving as praise worship leaders but at night they are terrible," he claimed.

According to him, some of the youth engage in unprotected sex and drug abuse during the "keshas", exposing themselves to drug addiction and Sexually Transmitted Infections.

He urged religious leaders to be hard on youths in their worship places and minimise activities that go up to late in the night.

Mr Mosachi said that night activities within religious places need to be thoroughly supervised to avoid such negative behaviour.
