A Kiambu MCA has urged the county government of Kiambu to address the grievances of doctors in Kiambu County to ease access to health services by the public.

Speaking at Thika Level Five Hospital on Friday, Hospital Ward MCA Mwangi Wamwangi said that there is need to devise a way to address the problem instead of blaming each other on the issue yet people are suffering.

Wamwangi condemned the county governments for the strikes by nurses in all the counties affected saying that the governments are blaming the National government for delayed funds but they should have formulated a better way of solving the issue.

“They should have sought a permanent solution as the medics have always been striking yet no solution has ever been devised. We will keep on blaming the National government as long as we don’t think about it in a positive manner,” said Mwangi.

He added, “The county government has the responsibility to intervene in the strikes and provide the right direction as the public is waiting for the services.”

He called on the doctors and nurses to ease their stand and resume duty as they await a solution or engage the governments in dialogue.

The MCA said the interns working at the moment are overwhelmed with the numerous patients seeking services.
