Mang'u Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Samuel Gachihi has dismissed calls from some quarters to revert the health docket back to the State.
Gachihi who spoke on Monday at Igegania Level Four Hospital said the county government of Kiambu is doing well on health matters and would not want the function taken back to the national government.
"I am in the forefront of championing that health should remain as a devolved function for the county governments. I don’t want to recall how the situation was like here at Igegania Hospital four years ago," said Gachihi.
He at the same time applauded the county government for ensuring that its health workers were not on strike as is the case in other counties where they have paralysed health services.
"I have seen the good work that Igegania health workers are doing and I am grateful. I also thank our governor (William Kabogo) for the efforts he has put towards health," he added.
He appealed to other leaders in the county to work together and avoid conflicts for the benefit of the electorate.
