Residents of Mochenwa area in Nyamira County have asked area the MCA to consider establishing ward offices in the area.

Speaking to HiviSasa.com on Monday, they insisted that the current ward offices in Gesima market are too far and many of them have not been receiving essential services from the leadership of Gesima ward.

According to them, the area deserves new offices since it used to be a ward before it was amalgamated when the IEBC revised boundaries prior to 2013 elections, hence merging it with Gesima.

“We are residents of this region and we deserve essential services from our elected members. The current offices for the ward are too far from us and that is why we want (MCA) Ken Atuti to consider building offices here so that we can also be served to satisfaction,” said Joshua Moriasi.

They asked Mr Atuti to hold an urgent meeting with them to solve the issue before they make it official in the county government.

“He has a chance to solve the issue by holding a meeting with us. We have a land that can be used for the purpose. Otherwise we will take our pleas to the county government for consideration as a petition,” added Enock Bosire.

Mr Atuti said that the concerns were genuine and his leadership would do all it can to ensure services are delivered without discrimination.
