Molo OCPD Job Lesinkwa has warned drug dealers saying that they will be hunted down and taken to court.

Briefing journalists in Molo town on Thursday, the police boss decried the rise in drug peddling in the area, noting that that the traffickers were even using children in their business.

He noted that selling of bhang was on the rise in some parts of the sub-county but was quick to add that several suspects have been arrested.

The police, he added, will continue with their crackdown to nab drug dealers. “We have noted with concern the rise in drug selling and want to tell drug dealers that their days are numbered,” he warned.

The Molo OCPD asked residents to provide information to the police that will help in arresting drug dealers.

On Tuesday, police in Molo arrested a 65-year-old woman who was allegedly found in possession of bhang worth Sh22, 000.

The woman was arrested following a tip off from the public.

Lesinkwa said that the suspect was notorious in drug peddling.

“We arrested a 65-year-old woman with 285 rolls of bhang worth Sh22, 000 and will arraign her in court once investigation is completed,” he said.

Meanwhile, the OCPD has asked chiefs in Molo to continue in the fight against illicit brews. He asked chiefs not to relent and fight brewers until the area is free from illicit brews and alcohol.

Lesinkwa at the same time asked youths to take part in other development activities instead of wasting time taking alcohol.
