Ruiru Member of Parliament Esther Gathogo has lauded the ongoing development projects initiated by the National Youth Service in the area.
Speaking when she inspected the projects led by the NYS deputy director Adan Halakhe on Thursday, Gathogo said the area had improved due to the ongoing projects and expressed her desires to see it work in other areas.
She added that there is need to boost youths by setting up projects like the NYS initiative thus ensuring there is sufficiency of job opportunities.
The legislator called on other MPs to embrace the NYS projects in their areas saying she is sure that it can work in other areas if it has been successful in Ruiru.
Gathogo said she will not relent in supporting unemployed youth by ensuring they benefit from such projects.
The MP said the roads in the area were in poor a state, a situation that changed after the launch of the NYS initiative in the area.
“The roads in the area are now perfect and I am impressed by the move. My fellow MPs should do the same and support this initiative to keep the youths moving as well as develop the society,” she said.
