A section of ODM leaders want Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka should be kicked out of the Orange party and pave way for fresh elections in his county.

Speaking on Thursday at Gekano high school during disbursement of Sh4million meant for bursary, Nyamira ODM Chairman and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire called upon Orange House Disciplinary committee to crack a whip on the two-time legislator.

He said the conduct of the MP was contrary to the party’s ideologies hence he should quit from the party or to be forced out.

“ODM is a party of order and we cannot allow the MP to continue demeaning the image of the party. Let him know that he was elected on the party’s ticket and he should therefore abide by the rules. Time has come for him to quit or face tough test from loyal party members,” the chairman said.

His sentiments were echoed by former majority leader and Bogichora MCA Beuttah Omanga who challenged the embattled legislator to voluntarily quit the party and join the government which he seems to support, its ideologies.

“The writings are very clear on the wall and the MP should just leave. The party no longer needs his support because he has become a liability,” he said.

Onyonka is among the ODM legislators who were recently de-whipped from key committees in the house and this move comes after the MP is said to have vehemently sided with the Jubilee coalition to defend embattled Devolution CS Ann Waiguru.
