Kiabonyoru MCA James Isabwengi has challenged Nyamira County Commissioner Josephine Onunga to transfer administration police officers from Kiabonyoru Police Post to tighten security in the area.
According Isabwengi, police officers at the post have failed to provide enough security to the area residents.
The MCA said many residents have lost their livestock, prompting the county commissioner to transfer the police officers and bring in new officers who can work positively in providing security.
Speaking on Wednesday in his ward, Isabwengi said there is no need of having overstayed police officers in the area when his residents are suffering from insecurity.
He challenged police officers to always work positively in providing adequate security to citizens and eliminate crime.
He also challenged are residents to cooperate with police officers by reporting theft cases to curb crime in the area.
“There is insecurity in my ward and to end this police officers should be transferred and new officers deployed. The officers here are doing nothing,” he said.
He added: “let the county commissioner act on this matter to end suffering in this ward”.
