More than 50 elderly persons in Yatta on Friday received their monthly payment from the national government.
The group received cash covering three months following the suspension of payments pending investigations into corruption allegations into the fund.
The disbursement process which took place at the Yatta Kenya Commercial Bank saw over Sh3.4 million disbursed to the elderly.
Other vulnerable groups including the orphans will receive their cash on Friday September 2.
Yaata Children's officer Erastus Nkiama said he was pleased by the patience exhibited by the beneficiaries even after the fund transfer was stopped.
"I am happy that we have made it to settle the three months that were never released due to some challenges and I commend the beneficiaries for their calmness throughout the period," he said.
"We are targeting the remaining group on Friday next week."
He called on those who did not receive their money that the cash will be paid in September 2.
Nkiama revealed that so far his office had released a total of Sh27 million for payment.
