Drama ensued on Monday at the home of Elburgon Ward MCA Florence Wambui when Police and Area residents stormed her house alleging that there were second generation brews hidden in her compound. Police led by Molo Assistant Commissioner, Judith Cheruiyot ransacked her house but there was no alcohol that was found.
"We were informed that there was illicit alcohol hidden in the MCA's house and we decided to call her so that we could do a search. We have looked everywhere but there was nothing. It is unfortunate that it was mere propaganda", said Cheruiyot. The commissioner appealed to members of the public not to use the fight against illicit brews to tarnish other people's names.
On her part the MCA accused her political detractors of being behind the whole thing with an aim of humiliating her. "To my political nemesis who are eyeing this seat, I request you to wait until 2017 when electorates will once again decide who they want to be their MCA. But let us not use this war against illicit brews to settle political scores", she said.
