Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has instituted changes in his government in which several chief officers were reshuffled.

Ranguma said the changes were occasioned by the need to enhance efficiency in service delivery.

In a letter dated September 2, signed by County Secretary Humphrey Nakitari and copied to all chief officers and city manager Doris Ombara, he said the deployment takes immediate effect and hand over must be finalised within a week.

“In the Cabinet meeting on September 1, the cabinet approved deployment transfers in various departments of Kisumu County,” Ranguma said.

Chief of Staff Dr Kennedy Hongo who has just returned from a long suspension is now the senior director in charge of Social Development Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth, Gender and Sports.

Hongo was suspended by Ranguma in February to pave way for investigations into the controversial Sh18 billion Kisumu Waste Management Project.

The long serving chief officer Joshia Owiro in of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has been moved to head Delivery Unit in the governor’s office.

Ranguma retained Eric Odida as the director of Special Programmes as Alex Ayatta becomes the head of Procurement Officer in charge of Kisumu.

Aggrey Mbeke is now the acting director of Supply Chain, Kisumu county headquarters.

Mary Obade was transferred to Health ministry as the in charge of home, economics and nutrition.

The director of administrations Haggai Khadiri becomes director of administration in charge of central services.

Titus Omanyi is now the director of administration in charge of wards and sub-county administrators.
