Kitutu Chache North residents have been assured that there are enough malaria drugs in store to help them during El Nino season.

According to sub county public health officer Thomas Oirere, the Ministry of Health is well equipped with enough drugs owing to potential malaria outbreak during the heavy rains.

Mr Oirere was speaking on Tuesday at Marani during Nets Distribution stakeholders forum where officials from all departments attended the meeting.

“We have ensured that there are enough malaria drugs in all centers as one way of being ready to help any patient who will be diagnosed with malaria during the rainy season,” said Mr Oirere.

Besides having drugs in place, the health officer urged residents to use mosquito nets to protect themselves from mosquito bites to avoid malaria.

“Of course we have drugs in store but we are encouraging the residents to make proper use of mosquito nets to avoid malaria," he added.
