Lari Member of Parliament Mburu Kahangara has urged Kiambu residents to work with the two levels of government to foster development.

Kahangara said the national and the Kiambu county governments were committed to improving the lives of residents.

“The two levels of government have played a big role in addressing the challenges affecting Kiambu residents. I call on the residents to strengthen the relationship so that more can be achieved,” said Kahangara.

Speaking on Sunday at Kamchege Shopping Centre in Kamburu Ward during a baraza, the lawmaker pledged to revive the stalled projects to give new life to local residents.

“A number of projects have stalled and I will make sure they are revived for the sake of residents,” he said.

The legislator said he would use the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to improve the lives of his constituents.

“I want Lari residents to present their proposals to my CDF office so that we can address the challenges facing them,” he said.

Kahangara said he would give priority to education and infrastructure.

“Lari CDF will give additional money to needy students from needy families through bursaries and rehabilitate the bad roads,” he added.

He thanked the residents for their role in the fight against illicit liquor.

“The fight against illicit liquor has succeeded due to cooperation by residents and the provincial administration and I urge residents to continue supporting the government in the eradication of illicit liquor,” said Kahangara.

He further said the security has been enhanced through the setting up of several police posts through CDF.
