School going children have been cautioned against engaging in activities that are illegal as it may land them in serious trouble.

This comes after two form three students were arrested ferrying illicit brew with bodabodas.

Confirming the incident on Monday, Kikuyu OCS Joshua Arende said the two minors, students at Kirima Secondary school in Ondiri, Kikuyu Sub-County were arrested by traffic officers while ferrying the brew.

Arende said the two will be charged with two offenses; breaking traffic rules by over speeding and operating without a license and a second charge of transporting illegal brew.

Inspector Arende said that according to information gathered, the two were hired by an illicit brewer in King'ero, adding that the motorcycles also belonged to the brewer.

"I warn high school students against being lured into quick money by engaging in activities that may land them in serious trouble. Students have this mentality that since they are below 18 years, they can't be arraigned in court. If you get arrested you will face the law accordingly," said Arende.

He said that parents should play a major role in stopping such activities by being aware of their children's whereabouts.

He said that parents shouldn't encourage their children to work to get money as they end up being used in illegal acts hence committing crime.

Arende said parents should instead encourage their children to engage in sport activities and other positive activities to avoid being lured into breaking the law.

The two will be held at Kikuyu Police Station before being arraigned in court.
