A man was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nakuru court over defilement charges.
The suspect, John Ndungu, is accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl on diverse dates between July 25 and August 22 this year at the Teachers Estate in Nakuru.
The accused also faces another charge of an indecent act on minor by indecently touching her between the said dates.
According to the prosecution, Ndungu called the minor and promised her that a bodaboda man would come to pick her and take her to him.
The bodaboda man later picked her up and took her to the house where the accused is said to have defiled her before moving her to another house.
The court heard that the girl’s mother launched a search for her daughter after she went missing for days.
When the minor came back home, the prosecution said, her mother interrogated her after noticing the changes in her daughter.
The girl confessed about the ordeal to her mother who later reported the incident to the police.
Ndungu was arrested and taken to the Teacher’s Police post.
Appearing before Principle Magistrate Bernard Ndenda, Mbuthia pleaded not guilty and was released on a surety bond of Sh300,000.
The case will be heard on October 8.
