A middle-aged man was on Wednesday evening trapped in his house in Kyaume village in Tala area of Machakos County after the police noted that he was in possession of more than 25 rolls of bhang.

The arrest was made by the area administration police officers in collaboration with the community policing officers.

According to Kyaume location chief Francis Mulinge, they were able to get the man after they were tipped off by the neigbours and well-wishers in the area about the well-known criminal.

“We were tipped by well-wishers on the exact time when he does his business in the house and we were able to get him red handed on the act of packing the hard drugs and we arrested him,” Mulinge said.

“I have been warning the man as he was suspected to be behind the drugs sold in Tala but he didn’t stop even after the warning,” the chief added.

Tala OCPD Joseph Chesire, in a phone interview, said that they have been pursuing the whereabouts of the man and they have successfully arrested him.

Chesire cautioned to desist from drug abuse, as it causes irreversible damage not only to them, but to the society too adding that drugs are the main cause of crimes in the area.

The man was taken to Tala police post waiting to be arraigned in court.
