Two people were on Friday morning arraigned before a Maseno court to answer to charges of engaging in mob justice.
The accused Paul Koech and Aaron Keino who are alleged to have committed the offence on July 15 at Maseno market, denied the allegations against them.
According to the prosecution the two are said to have attacked and injured Morice Ochieng after accusing him of stealing Mutura (blood sausage) worth Sh5.
Ochieng' is said to have refused to pay after being served by the proprietors when the two allegedly raised alarm branding him a thief and started attacking him as he fled.
The accused argued that many more people joined the mob and they should be freed or everybody who engaged in the mob be also arrested.
However the prosecution argued that the two accused persons are the ones who propagated the attack and therefore they should take full responsibility.
Maseno resident magistrate Philip Oilo released them on a cash bail of sh5, 000 with surety of a similar amount pending the hearing of the case on the August 29 this year.
