Two men were arraigned on Monday in a Kikuyu Law Court for allegedly stealing valuables in a church in Kikuyu. Allan Njuguna and Francis Kimani appeared before chief magistrate James Ogweno.
The prosecution desk told the court that on the July 11, 2015 at around 6pm, the two who are members of the Faith Assemblies church in Kinoo went to the pastors house in the area and asked for the keys of the church so as they could do the cleaning of the church in preparation of the Sunday service.
The pastor, David Chemsai gave them the keys and the two went to the church. However at around 8pm they finished and took back the keys to the pastor. On Sunday July 12, 2015 when the pastor opened the church, two speakers, three microphones and an amplifier were all missing. The pastor reported the matter at Kinoo police station where investigations were launched regarding the matter. On police investigations, police went to the house of Njuguna in Kikuyu and on police conducting a quick search in his house, one of the micro phones was recovered at a drawer.However the rest of the items were recovered at Kimani’s house in Wangige.
The two pleaded not guilty of the charges. Justice Ogweno however adjourned the case for a hearing on the July 29, 2015. He issued them a cash bail of Sh 200,000 each.
