Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan has warned public servants in the county against laxity and corruption in service delivery saying they risk facing being axed.

Speaking in his office on Tuesday the county commissioner said that he had received complaints against public servants regarding absence from offices despite the large need for services by residents..

“Perennial absenteeism and corruption will not be tolerated in my area of jurisdiction and such individuals will be unmasked and shown the door since they are just liabilities to the county,” he said.

He urged the public to embrace the 'Nyumba Kumi' initiative by the national government by reporting any suspicious characters to the nearest police station reiterating the 'security begins with you' call by the presidency.

“The public should continue giving out relevant information concerning any security threat in their midst since it’s the only way that will help the police deal with insecurity effectively,” he added.

He warned officers condoning criminal activities and corruption that they would be found out and prosecuted.

“Inefficient corrupt and lazy officers should be sacked and be replaced with efficient ones” he said.
