Police imposter Joshua Karianjahi Waiganjo has denied sending a letter to SONU chairman Babu Owino seeking help. “I don’t know any one called Babu Owino,” said Wiaganjo.

Waiganjo said that the allegation which ran on the Nairobian Weekly newspaper on the dates 19 – 25th June 2015 were unfounded. He called on the Director of Public Prosecution Kiriako Tobiko to launch investigations into the matter saying it undermines the authority and strict regulations of the prison security in the Country and wants the director of public prosecution (DDP) to commence investigations over the letter.

“I am deeply concerned that a person would forge and allege a letter to be written by me for a reason best known to them and I hereby apply to the director of public prosecution to commence investigations over the alleged letter purported to be written by me as the same abuse and demeans the security forces and authority in Kenya whilst still shaken by terror,” he said.

Waiganjo was speaking to the press at the Nakuru law courts after he appeared before Chief Principle Magistrate, Monica Nyakundi to answer the case of car theft. He said that the allegation in the paper is a pure lie.

“Following the recent publication by the Nairobian newspaper I wish to categorically denounce and rebuke the allegation labeled therein that I wrote a letter to Babu Owino,” he said.

He said that his family has been misrepresented after that publication and he wouldn’t have even under any circumstance if his life was threatened wrote to Owino to seek help.

“Given the circumstance, I believe there are more plausible and authoritative channels to pursue in case my life is threatened or put in danger, the allegation that I am serving a 10 year jail term is a total misrepresentation of facts that have caused great misery to my family,” he said

The case will be mentioned on July 9.
