Uasin Gishu County leaders led by Senator Isaac Melly and Kapseret legislator Oscar Sudi have called for the suspension of Devlution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over alleged graft.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Sunday the leaders blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta for employing double standards in the fight against corruption.
They questioned why Waiguru has not been suspended unlike other CSs, despite her admission that at least Sh791 million was lost at the National Youth Service (NYS), which lies in her docket.
"The President is not being sincere in the fight against graft. Felix Koskei (Agriculture), Davis Chirchir (Energy), Charity Ngilu (Lands) and Kazungu Kambi (Labour) were all suspender over graft claims, yet Waiguru even after admitting that money was lost is still enjoying privileges accorded to a CS," Sudi said.
He added," Does it mean that some Cabinet Secretaries are more important."
Melly said that if the president wants to bag Rift Valley votes then he must show Waiguru the door.
