Kisii County governor James Ongwae has promised to set up water projects in every sub county to end water scarcity in the county.

Speaking on Tuesday at Gusii Stadium during the celebration of Mashujaa Day, Ongwae said in two months time, every sub county will have a water project.

He also said that boreholes will be dug in every ward in Kisii.

The governor also vowed to ensure more development in the county, including roads construction and revamping health sector.

“During the last financial year, my government constructed 45 kilometers of road, this year 45 kilometers and next year we will construct 45 kilometers to boost transport services,” said Ongwae.

The county boss also challenged the national government to always disburse funds to county governments in time to avoid delays in salary payments of county employees.

"County employees receive their salaries late because the national government does not release money to us in time to facilitate the payments," he claimed.
