Masinga sub-county youth leader Evans Mutisya has told suspended Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu to leave the ruling Jubilee coalition.
Speaking on Monday during a meeting in Masii where members of the public deliberated on how to curb insecurity in the area, Mutisya said Ngilu was misled in 2013 to join the Jubilee coalition.
He said the recurrent accusations of graft against Ngilu is an indication leaders in the ruling coalition were not ready to work with her.
"We have been supporting people for years and we need to unite now," Mutisya said.
"Ngilu was just carried away by hunger for power and she is being thrown out slowly with the case they put against her. Ukambani people have the ability to rule if they unite and come together."
The youth leader said there were many leadership positions that should be taken by the young generation but noted with concern that the youth in the area have no interest in leadership and thus giving the old people to rule over for many years.
He called on the youth to vie for elective positions in 2017.
