Mamboleo Women Sacco chairperson Roselyn Obanga has urged women across Kisumu County to adopt a saving culture to guarantee them a financial stability in the future.
Chairperson Obanga said most women depend on their husbands for financial support, yet they have the power to achieve financial stability.
Speaking to this writer on Monday in Kisumu, Obanga said one does not need to be earning huge amount of money to save, but the little they have can assist them in the future.
Obanga said financial institutions like Saccos allow people to save regardless of their nature of job adding that women should take full advantage of such institutions to positively transform their lives.
“Financial incapabilities has been the main reason why women have been sidelined in the society, but it is time we put that notion behind and take control,” said Obanga.
She added that a woman who is able to take care of herself will command respect in the society as compared to one who depends on a man.
“I take this opportunity to urge women to come out in numbers and save with institutions such as Saccos, for the development of our society at large,” added Obanga.
Obanga is the chairlady of Mamboleo Women Sacco, an organisation that champions women’s rights in the society a part from helping them attain financial stability.
